Driving
For Satnav the postcode is WV16 4AL.
From M54, Telford, Wolverhampton or Kidderminster take the A442 to Low Town and, after crossing the River Severn, take the first fork right in Underhill Street up New Road. Opposite the White Lion pub in West Castle Street turn right, at the Shakespeare pub, into East Castle Street.
From A458 and Shrewsbury, follow signs to town centre and, after passing the Town Hall in the middle of High Street, drive straight on at the multi-coloured brick former Market building (avoiding the right turn into Listley Street), then left, at the Shakespeare pub, into East Castle Street.
Garden Cottage is half way along on the right.
Car Parking
There is normally space to park in East Castle Street. A permit is needed and guests are provided with one for a single vehicle for the duration of their stay. Additional permits may be purchased but there are also spaces available in many nearby carparks. Details can be found on www.en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/bridgnorth.
Public Transport
For guests not coming by car, the railway stations at Wolverhampton, Telford and Shrewsbury are served by buses direct to Bridgnorth, and Garden Cottage is a short and easy flat walk from the bus stop in the High Street.
More picturesquely, take the main line to Kidderminster and then the Severn Valley Railway to Bridgnorth. A footbridge leads from the SVR station to New Road, leading to West Castle Street.
Group from Stockport and Bristol, May 2015: One of the loveliest of cottages – lots of peace and quiet. We very much enjoyed every day here.
Family from Edinburgh, August 2014: We had a wonderful time celebrating Ian’s fiftieth birthday. The cottage is beautiful – more so than we had imagined/hoped when we booked.
Couple from Nottingham, April 2014: Just what we needed – three days of rest in a fab house in an excellent location. We enjoyed the peace and also enjoyed the ale and hospitality Bridgnorth has to offer. First class!!
