Bridgnorth is full of quaint corners and picturesque alleyways and flights of steps. The ancient Cartway winds between High Town and the river and is lined with characterful old houses.
The High Street is dominated by the half-timbered Town Hall. A street market is held here every Friday and Saturday with local produce for sale. A Covered Market is open daily (except Sundays) opposite the Town Hall and a large ‘flea market’ takes place each Saturday off Whitburn Street. There are numerous antique and vintage shops to explore. As well as the usual chainstores (including Sainsbury’s, Tesco and M&S Simply Food), the town possesses a remarkably large number of independent shops, which adds greatly to its character.
The Majestic Cinema in Whitburn Street, the Theatre on the Steps, and Bridgnorth Library are all within easy walking distance from Garden Cottage.
